Analysis and Testing Center (ATC)

ATC is an analysis and testing entity with comprehensive R & D and service capability. It is engaged in research on analysis and testing of chemical engineering & metallurgy, inspection on product quality, arbitration of analysis and testing, research and production of standard materials, as well as establishment of standard analysis method.

Now the center has 28 staff members. Among them 80% holds academic credentials, 30% holds high professional titles. ATC is composed of chemical analysis, ICP-AES analysis, AAS analysis, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry analysis, IC analysis,  radioactive chemical analysis ,α-ray energy spectrometry analysis ,γ-ray energy spectrometry analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis and other several laboratories. It is capable of element and component analysis, phase and structure analysis, natural radioactive nuclide analysis, environmental impact assessment and metrological inspection, and can offer various comprehensive analytical and judge tasks.

Chemical metrological station, CNNC, which is also included in ATC, has got the certification of national defence metrological in December 1990. It also passed the re-test of national defense metrological twice in July 95 and July 2000. Under the authority of the superior administrative department, Chemical meteorological station organize and coordinate chemical metrological technology research, research and production of standard material, capability validate of analytical labs in CNNC. ATC organized and joined the international comparison sponsored by IAEA. Those include trace elements in standard material of U3O8, water, vegetable, olive sample and radioactive nuclide in standard material of sediments. In addition, since the establishment of Chemical meteorological station, it has played a very important role in maintaining the analysis quality of chemical engineer & metallurgy academy in CNNC.

  After years of practice, ATC has accomplished 600 research tasks, among which 80 programs won national or ministerial science and technology progress prizes. By now it has established 40 standard analysis methods, published 500 papers and 8 monographs at home and abroad, and produced 99 standard materials, which composed of 15 first grade standards materials, 84 second grades standard materials. At the same time, ATC has contributed a lot in Chemical metrological, hydrometallurgy of uranium, development of chemical engineer and metallurgy technology as well as analysis and testing technology.

ATC provides 84-second grade standard solutions, which are used to calibrate analytical apparatus and evaluation of analysis methods. The types of standard solution are listed in the appendix.
